Jewelry Care

Understanding how to protect and care for your jewelry can make the world of difference in maintaining its beauty.

Wearing

We recommend wearing your jewelry consciously. Precious metals and natural stones do not tolerate extensive contact with dishwashing liquids/cleaning fluids and doing the housework wearing your jewelry increases its risk of being scratched. Please remove your jewelry before you go to bed, when swimming, gardening, doing sports, (seriously messy) cooking, and moving heavy objects. Contact with clean water is acceptable, although it’s important to wipe your piece right after to prevent oxidation.

Storing

It is better to store your jewelry on a soft surface in a room with low humidity. If you store your items in a box, make sure that each item is placed separately from others. Be sure to keep your jewelry out of the reach of children.

Cleaning and Polishing

Cleaning and polishing your pieces can be done using polishing cloths designed specifically for jewelry (Connoisseurs for example), owed to their suitable fabric texture, which are also impregnated with a special agent for effective cleaning and polishing of the product. The use of warm clean water or cleaning liquids designed specifically for jewelry is also acceptable.

My Jewelry Turned Black

Over time, jewelry accumulates fingerprints and dirt particles. This leads to chemical reaction with metal. As a result, it can become dark. This applies to both gold and silver pieces. It often happens if the jewelry was not cleaned after the wearing and then stored for a while. Usually this can be fixed with a jewelry polishing cloth (the same that is used for regular jewelry care) or with a cloth for cleaning glasses. Limited amount of warm water or alcohol is also allowed. If you’re not able to remove the darkness with suggested solutions, please contact our support team at order@leta.st and attach a photo of your item. We will do our best to help you.

Frequency of Care

A jewelry care session for your items is recommended once every two months. Spending less than a minute on each jewelry item will ensure the perfect look of your collection for years to come.

Amber Care

Amber is fossilized tree resin. The natural softness of amber is the main reason why it can only be cleaned with a special polishing cloth. Do not use a brush or rubber cleaning tools and do not allow them to be heated too much as amber can become faded as a result of exposure to high temperatures. At the same time, it is safe for amber to come into contact with warm water or jewelry cleaning liquids.

Repair

In case of damage to your Leta jewelry, please contact our support team at order@leta.st and attach a photo of your item. Although our company does not repair jewelry, we will provide our recommendations for further/corrective action and any suitable services available in your location.
