Leta is committed to completely zeroing its carbon footprint by 2028. This will be achieved by eliminating paper, reducing energy consumption in manufacturing and stores, using electric transport for delivery, and participating in sustainable forest management programs in Russia.
Every action and decision we take in Leta is always challenged with the very important question: “How would this affect the environment?” You already know that we only use mineral resources that were mined in a responsible way. You also know that our packaging is made from recycled material and is also completely soil-safe. And, of course, you know about our long-term support of the project to preserve the population of Baltic ringed seals in the Gulf of Finland.
Now is the time to go even further. Leta announces a public commitment to analyze and eliminate the carbon footprint generated by our partners in the industry of mining, processing and transportation of resources, as well as activities related to retail and last mile delivery. This will be achieved with a three-pronged strategy: saving energy and other resources, introducing environmental audits for every partner, as well as compensatory actions – in particular, financing sustainable forest management programs and planting new trees on our own.
In 2021, we completed the transfer of all our partners to electronic document management, drastically reducing the use of paper. The process of jewelry designing is now also carried out only on electronic devices. Leta office has been operating in an energy efficient mode since 2019 by using LED lighting, smart electricity timers and smart water meters. Now we begin to implement this together with our partners in retail and production. In locations where Leta processes the largest number of online orders, we plan to organize our own delivery with the use of an electric transport. And for the rest of the cities, we aim to cooperate with a delivery company that has implemented its own zero-carbon footprint policy.
According to our calculations, we will be able to achieve carbon neutrality by 2028. At Leta we’re convinced that the ecological agenda is not a trend, but a way of being. The success of our business goes hand-in-hand with the long-term resilience of our planet and its unique natural resources, whether they are natural resources from which we create jewelry, or simply water and air necessary for each person’s life. Being a responsible company committed to people and the planet is our public position and we encourage both our clients and other jewelry companies to join us in creating meaningful change.

A talented photographer Lucy Zharikova went to Yantarny this summer to create an atmospheric shoot on the Baltic Coast for Ambery. Inspired by the cold sea, fresh wind and natural textures, such as wood and smoky pebbles, Lucy subtly conveyed everything that we appreciate so much in our jewelry – simple and adjusted forms and natural beauty of amber.
Today we launch “Saving the Planet” section on our site. There we have tried to express our opinion on the environmental problems that humanity has faced and about the way in which we do not shy away from them.
In our collections we mainly focused on amber, but we feel that in the future we definitely would like to try new ideas and combinations. Amber will still remain the cornerstone of our jewelry story, but today it will have a new name, not limited to its «amber» side. Leta is the same jewelry pieces with an architectural history, the same neat style and the same impeccable service, the same website and the same best team in the world. But with a new name.
Over the past 10 years, Garage has developed from an exhibition space to a valued artistic institution. When we discovered that the Museum creates an endowment for its own sustainable development, the decision was made. Until 2024 Leta will monthly transfer a portion of the funds from our income to the Garage Endowment Fund.
